We'll re-present the same story as a thoughtful proponent of the maga litmus test frame would. Not to convince you. To let you actually meet the argument.

The deportation mandate is the message
A MAGA strategist would argue —
The voters who built this coalition didn't pick Trump for vibes — they picked him because he promised to actually shut down the border and deport the people who shouldn't be here. Madison Sheahan didn't just talk about that work; she did it, on the ground, in the middle of riots in Minneapolis where federal officers were under siege. A primary in OH-9 — a district Trump carried by eleven points — is exactly where that résumé should be tested. If Republican voters reward a candidate who personally executed the deportation agenda, the mandate is real and durable beyond Trump himself. If they don't, the party needs to know that now, not in 2028, and adjust accordingly.

If this read like a fair rendering of the argument — even when you disagree — it's doing its job. Steelmen aren't aimed at persuading you; they're aimed at what the other side actually believes when they're thinking clearly.
